Thank you Brasília

After days of preparation, fantastic opening and 26 exhibition days, the exhibition project has come to an end. Big thanks to all who supported us during those days, and worked extremely hard during this time. We would like to express our appreciation to all the people who have participated in this project, to our sponsor, media and all of our partners. Brazilian audience didn’t let us down again. We assume that over 7 thousand people visited The Spirit of Poland in Brasilia during the 26-day event. To all the visitors, thank you for coming!

The sixth edition of The Spirit of Poland exhibition in Brasilia started on the 4th of November, presenting over a dozen of Polish brands. This time Polish design was showcased at the spectacular venue of the Museu Nacional do Conjunto Cultural da República, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and considered as one of the most important icons of modernist architecture in the world. At the official opening, over 200 guests were welcomed by the Ambassador of Poland to Brazil Andrzej Maria Braiter and The Spirit of Poland initiative was presented by the organisers. The project of the exhibition, as well as the objects presented there, received lots of recognition from the diplomats, press and the people associated with the design scene and design education in Brazil. In the first week of the exhibition in Galeria Terreo of the Museu Nacional and at the Universidade de Brasília (UnB), we  organised a series of talks and workshops. We presented an overview of what is happening in Polish design with a film projection “Poużywajmy sobie (Let’s use it.) The history of Polish design” thanks to support of our partner DOMO+.  The energy during these days was unique and we would like to thank the amazing team at UnB as well as all our lovely guests, participants and partners!

The aim of the exhibition was to showcase products, in which development designers played an important role. The context for products chosen for the exhibition was the history of individual brands, presented in an attractive way, encouraging the viewer to learn more about the objects themselves as well as the process of their development. The initiative aims at showcasing Polish material culture, its history and contemporary development through a presentation of the diversity of Polish companies.
